The EFVM is a non-profit non-government organization being involved in vascular medicine. Since most death worldwide account to coronary and systemic vascular disease, the EFVM promotes research projects in this field. The EFVM focusses on both, local medical settings in rural and non-metropol regions as well as urban, industrial zones.
The EFVM foundation provides scholarship holders with both non-material and financial support. Your nationality is irrelevant as long as you have been accepted for a research project or MD thesis or PhD thesis at a European university where you will also be submitting your dissertation. Moreover applications are welcome from disciplines in the medical, psychological, cultural field.

Who can apply?

Requirements for EFVM applicants include:

  • You have an invitation letter from a european university to join a research project or MD thesis or PhD thesis
  • You have studied medicine in a non-european country
  • Your english is fluent
  • Your planned project is outstanding and highly relevant to your local medical settin
  • You have a well above average commitment and performance in first degree
  • letter of support from supervisor or mentees

What does our funding look like?

The scholarship comprises both non-material and financial support. As well as providing EFVM stipends with individual advice and special events, it also includes summer academies and language courses, short conferences and professional orientation seminars. In addition, scholarship holders receive a monthly stipend of 1.000 euros and a monthly research allowance of 100 euros. Funding is initially provided for a period of one year. In case of exellent performance, a second or third year application if possible. The maximum funding period is 36 months (or up to 48 months for scholarship holders with a child).

When is the closing date for applications?

Applications can be submitted at any time.

  • CV 2-6 pages (references, exams, social engagement, abstracts, papers)
  • Project Plan with time table
  • Invitation letter
