Who we are

The European Foundation for Vascular & Preventive Medicine (EFVM), founded in 2004, is a private and non-profit foundation.

Physicians, biologists, basic researchers and clinical scientists as well as other people from different disciplines work together here on a voluntary basis.

Our mission is to improve cardiovascular care in so-called non-metropolitan regions. Furthermore, the foundation is involved in health projects for women’s, mother’s and child’s health and in health projects outside Europe – especially in so-called low-resource settings in the sub-Saharan zone.

The work of the EFVM is financed exclusively by donations and endowments. Well-known personalities from culture, politics, medicine worldwide supported EVFM in these goals.
